Dice officially unveils Fighter Squadron mode for Star Wars Battlefront

The next entry in the Battlefront series shows off its new large-scale dogfighting mode.

After teasing fans yesterday with a short teaser trailer, today the team at DICE has shown the first trailer for the new Battlefront game mode Fighter Squadron. The new mode sends 20 players to the sky to fight it out with all of the famous starships you know and love from the Star Wars series.

Along with the players are 20 AI controlled ships, to really give off the sense of a large-scale dogfight.

The mode appears to allow players to also take on the role of famous ships, just as the other modes allow players to play as famous characters. In the trailer, we see one player controlling the Millenium Falcon, and at the end we are teased with another player flying in with Boba Fett's Slave-1.

Fans were hoping for more large scale ship battles in the new Battlefront, and this proves to be just that.

Take to the skies when the game launches on November 17th of this year.

I am so excited to play this video game. This mode looks phenomenal, hopefully this game doesn't see any big problems in November!

It's a game being developed by DICE and published by EA. Problems are inevitable given their recent track record.

Okay, DICE and EA really need someone to sit them down and explain what a "REVEAL" is, because they basically told us everything besides the 20 AI fighters.
