Splinter Cell and Rayman Legends by Ubisoft Fail to Reach Sales Goals

Ubisoft's end of fiscal year sales numbers to be lower than foreseen.

Developer of Rayman Legends and Splinter Cell: Blacklist has found sales are not doing as well as they had hoped this year. Ubisoft has released news that sales for Rayman Legends and Splinter Cell: Blacklist are under goals they had estimated during a call to investors.

It’s not just the sales for these two games that are under par, but their total sales quota for the year. Ubisoft stated that it was their belief that the lower sales can be related also to the delay in their developing title, Watch Dogs.

Watch Dogs, a third-person sandbox-style game, was first shown the public at E3 2012. It originally had a launch date of November, set to launch with the next generation consoles. With approximately a month to release Watch Dogs, Ubisoft announced on October 15th that they would be delaying Watch Dogs until Spring 2014.

With this news hurting sales forecasts already, the lower sales numbers for Rayman Legends and Splinter Cell: Blacklist has surely hit Ubisoft’s end of fiscal year numbers fairly well. Ubisoft released Splinter Cell: Blacklist in August and Rayman Legends in September of 2013.
