Funcom turning Conan the Barbarian into a survival game

Conan Exiles looks to bring the savage world of Conan to a survival game.

Funcom, the company in which has brought us Anarchy Online, Age of Conan, and The Secret World, is now tackling a new genre -- survival games.  With many survival games focusing around zombies, such as 7 Days to Die or H1Z1, Funcom has decided to create their game in the universe of Conan the Barbarian.

Conan Exiles places you as a Barbarian who has been executed in the desert.  While you hang lifeless, you have a vision in which Conan actually approaches you and hands you his axe and tells you:

"Now it's your turn. get up. Survive".

If you are a fan of savage fights, Brutal executions, and overall blood and gore, then Conan Exiles promises to bring you plenty of that. One of the main focuses for Funcom was to bring the feel of an actual barbarian to the combat in Conan Exiles.

Starting from nothing, you will have to survive and battle the environments as well as whatever beasts you encounter.  Will you decide to be a loner and wage war on your enemies single-handedly or be happy growing crops and hunting for food yourself?  Perhaps you will choose to group together and create an army of barbarians to follow you as you alter the world and take control of everything you set your eyes on.

Conan Exiles will allow you to play alone or with friends on private servers, or play on public servers and dominate the world of Conan and make even the most savage barbarian bow before you.

Conan Exiles is set to hit PC Early Acces in summer 2016, with the full launch on PC and console to follow. Feel free to check out more at the Conan Exiles website.
