RE: Verse Pits Classic Resident Evil Characters in Multiplayer Mayhem

RE: Verse is a multiplayer deathmatch game where players face off against a roster of classic Resident Evil characters.

The Resident Evil showcase focused mostly on Resident Evil Village, but it also revealed a brand-new multiplayer Resident Evil game called RE: Verse

In RE: Verse, four to six players duke it out for survival in iconic Resident Evil locations choosing classic and modern Resident Evil characters, from Claire Redfield to the Baker daddy. Each character boasts unique skillsets beyond just shooting guns and smashing with shovels, but even when they fall, death isn’t the end.

In true Resident Evil fashion, dying just means getting reborn as a mutated monster. Fallen characters turn into Bioweapons and wreak havoc on the remaining live fighters.

RE: Verse will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and is playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility. It’s free with purchases of Resident Evil Village, though Capcom hasn’t said what the price will be if it’s a standalone purchase. It will presumably launch alongside or near Resident Evil Village‘s May 7 release date, though Capcom says more information is to come soon.
