Zoids Wild Multimedia Franchise and Nintendo Switch Game Announced

The Zoids franchise has been around since 1982 with various toys, comic books, anime series, and video games. The franchise revolves around animal-like mechs — usually piloted by human characters — that sometimes seem to have a mind of their own. The Nintendo Switch Zoids Wild game will be the first console game for the Zoids franchise since the turn-based strategy game, Zoids Assault, internationally released for the Xbox 360 in 2008. Nothing else has yet been revealed about the upcoming Nintendo Switch title.

It is currently unknown if Zoids Wild will see release outside of Japan. The last Zoids-related media seen outside of Japan was the Zoids Fuzors anime series, which premiered first in the U.S. in 2003 but ended its run halfway through due to low ratings; however, the series completed its 26 episode run in Australia and later aired in Japan.
