Red Bull Brings Starcraft 2 Legacy Of The Void To The Main Stage
I didn't think it would happen, but Red Bull found a way to bring Starcraft 2 back to the main stage - and on top of that, they're doing it in a 2v2 style tournament. Red Bull Media House has officially announced that the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Finals will be returning to Washington D.C. on September 19th. At this event, the top players from the Battle Grounds qualifiers will play for a $30,000 prize.
From past experience, the production quality of the Starcraft 2 Battle Grounds series has been top-notch, creating an excellent experience both live and on stream. However, this is only half the excitement I am harboring for this event. I have been waiting years to see competitive 2v2 matches for Starcraft 2, but even better - they will be competing with Blizzard's new Archon Mode.
Archon Mode is a new game mode added specifically for Legacy of the Void where two players control one base. So balance for 2v2 matches won't be more difficult, as it will still be balanced as normal. For a quick explanation check out this handy video.

Redbull, have you not stained enough of gaming with yer Destiny DLC finangling?!

I'm actually curious about why you don't like red bull esports. I though they ran some exceptional sc2 and dota2 tournaments.

...did you miss their entire BS DLC scheming with Destiny? That is why I am not happy with Redbull. They can host a tournament, but cutting content and forcing you to buy their product to get it is -not- okay in my book.

I must have missed it. I read it as just Destiny being the same pay for content machine that it launched as. I quickly got bored and stopped playing ages ago because of it.
