Secret of Mana

Secret of Mana is an Action RPG developed and released by Square Soft in 1993. It tells a legendary story about a young hero and his two companions, a girl and a sprite, restoring the mystical power of Mana, an ethereal omnipresent energy source.

When the boy finds a rusty sword embedded in a stone, he unleashes monsters in the surrounding countryside of his village by pulling out the artifact. After the boy gets banished by the villagers due to this bad omen an elderly knight named Jema recognizes the blade as the legendary Mana Sword and encourages the group to re-energize the sword by visiting the eight Mana Temples. Alltogether, the three adventurers embark on an epic journey to defeat the evil forces and restore peace again!
