Doom open beta and DLC announced

Doom will be holding an open beta to further stress test the games multiplayer. The open beta comes along with the announcement of 3 paid DLC packs.

ID Software’s Doom will be holding an open beta starting at 12:00AM EST on Friday, April 15th to 11:59PM EST on Sunday, April 17th. The news comes after the end of closed beta for the game, which took place from March 31st to April 3rd.

The open beta will run along the same lines as the closed beta. There will be the same 2 maps and modes, with one demon to use and a total of 7 guns. The demon and 7 guns are supposedly the same as in the closed beta.

Along with the open beta, it was announced that Doom would include 3 DLC Packs that will sell separately for $14.99 each, or $39.99 for all 3 with the season pass. The DLC packs will include:

  • 3 new maps
  • 1 new demon
  • 1 new weapon
  • 1 new armor set
  • New hack modules and taunts
  • New customization colors and patterns
  • 1 new piece of equipment (grenades, transporters, etc.)

Along with the DLC packs, there will also be free updates that will include new game modes and maps, among other things. Doom will release on May 13th for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
