Pokemon-Inspired MMORPG Temtem Coming to Steam Early Access

Temtem wants to take the Pokemon formula and turn it into a dynamic, MMO social experience.

If you have a good memory, you might recall Spain-based developer Crema announced a monster-raising MMORPG called Temtem a fair ways back.

Though it’s been a while since we heard any news on the Pokemon-inspired MMO, Crema and Humble Bundle recently announced Temtem will hit Steam Early Access and the Humble Store on January 21, 2020.

Temtem borrows liberally from Pokemon. Players travel around a floating archipelago with a team of Temtem to challenge other Temtem tamers. The objective, of course, is to become the very best, like no one…whoops, copyright …

Anyhow, you won’t be alone on your journey. Temtem is designed as a social experience, whether you’re pursuing the game’s main plot or raising the perfect team of monsters.

Temtem Battles are always a two-on-two affair, even when you fight alone. It’s meant to add a deeper element of strategy to the game, with Temtem helping each other out and letting you set up powerful combo attacks.

Monster raising borrows from Digimon as well, where breeding and management choices can land you with rare creatures you can’t find in the wild.

When you aren’t training, exploring, raising, and socializing, you can head back to your house and decorate it a la Animal Crossing. How extensive these customization options are remains to be seen, but we’ll find out soon enough when the stress test early access period starts on January 21.

Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Temtem news as it hatches.
