Destiny Veterans Won’t Have to Completely Start Over in Destiny 2

Bungie has announced what Destiny veteran will and won't be able to transfer to Destiny 2 when it drops later this year.

In an announcement on their website, Destiny developers Bungie have started to give us a clue about what will be coming in the next installment of the Destiny universe. They have confirmed that players will not be able to play Destiny 2 with any of their current powers or possessions, including Eververse items or currencies, which would have been built up during the first game.

“Sequels represent the start of a new adventure for every player, with new worlds to explore, new stories to tell, new powers to acquire, new loot to earn, and much more.”

— Bungie

The developer has also stated, however, that they do want players to carry forward some of what they have accomplished in the original game, so the classes, races, genders, and every other aesthetical choice for all your characters that have reached level 20 and completed the Black Garden story mission will be carry forward. And as in recognizing veterans of the game, they will be adding various honors to reflect your accomplishments.

But before we can turn our minds to Destiny 2, the last live event for Destiny will be revealed next Wednesday. Over the course of the next few weeks, Age of Triumph will be a fun and memorable event that will bring Destiny to an end and introduce a lot of what will be coming up in Destiny 2. Make sure you check back here next Wednesday so that we can let you know what this final event will entail.
