Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Trailer
As many Zelda fans know, a new hand-held Zelda game, A Link Between Worlds, is releasing soon along with a brand new 3DS XL to go along with it. Lucky for everyone, Nintendo has finally released an official trailer of this bad boy, giving us a small taste of what to expect. If I may say so, well done Nintendo.
The New World: Lorule
Zelda is captured yet again by the main villain, Yuga, and taken to a new world in the form of a painting. It's now Link's job to follow Zelda to the ends of the world, or to another. In the land of Lorule, it looks as if it's a replica of Hyrule gone awfully wrong. Here you must rescue your princess and bring order to Lorule.
The doppelgänger of Zelda, Hilda, speaks to a painting of Zelda describing the woes of Lorule, and how they need a hero such as Link. This will truly make the game, A Link Between Worlds, not only a link to worlds, but Link will be in the middle of them.
New Feature: Merging with your surroundings
A brand new feature in A Link Between Worlds is blending in with the walls. In the trailer, Link has a special bracelet that let's him 'become a painting' and fall into the wall. He's then able to walk around scaling to different locations using this wall ability. It's shown that he can also alter things on the walls like grates that form bridges over large spaces. This will be a new way of thinking in Zelda games that hasn't been done before.
Things remaining the same
As with some Zelda games, things often change. In Twilight Princess Link becomes a wolf, while in Wind Waker Link controls the wind. It's always expected that things change, but based off of the trailer, it's almost as if nothings different. Link looks like Link, while Zelda looks like Zelda. He grabs the Master Sword, and you see the three goddesses with the colors green, blue, and red. I can't help but enjoy this bit of nostalgia, bringing me back to my roots of Zelda.
I must say, Nintendo has knocked it out of the park with this game. Not only is the hand-held capability fantastic, but coming up with the painting idea is amazing. We've seen different types of worlds in Zelda before, but never to this extreme. I'll definitely be putting this on my Christmas list for sure.
If you want to pick up this new addition, it will be available on November 22nd, along with the new 3DS XL. If you're not too keen on the 3DS, it's also available for the 2DS, which is sometimes better for younger children.
