Yooka-Laylee Drops E3 2016 Trailer

Yooka-Laylee drops a new trailer and it looks like an ode to a 90's classic.

Playtonic Games released a new trailer for Yooka-Laylee earlier this week, just a couple weeks ahead of E3. The trailer shows Yooka (the green lizard thing) and Laylee (the bat) in action, kicking butt and jumping around. The game is created by Playtonic Games. The team is made up of key creative members of Banjo-Kazooie.

The trailer gives the game a very Banjo-Kazooie vibe. The game is colorful, playful and an ode to classic games. Banjo-Kazooie if you don's know is one of the biggest games from the 90's. It came out at a time where games didn't have to be as over the top as they are today, full of guns and action. They just had to be fun and that's all anyone cared about. Yooka-Laylee seems to be following in those footsteps and the team at Platonic Games seem like they just want to make a game that is fun to play.

The game will even be voiced by the man behind both Banjo and Kazooie, (Chris Sutherland), giving it even more of a Banjo-Kazooie feel. Yooka-Laylee is set to release sometime during the first quarter of 2017.

I'm 26 years old from Chicago. I have been playing video games almost all of my life, the first game I remember playing is Super Mario Bros on the Snes. Currently, I mostly play PC games but I also own a Xbox One, Xbox360, Wii, WiiU and a Ps3. My favorite game of all time is Fallout 3 and my favorite game series is either Gears of War or Bioshock. Look, a former AAA Development Team that actually knows how to do a trailer. Not that I'd expect anything less from these fellows but after seeing that thing that Mighty Number 9's Developers called a trailer, I was skeptical for a moment. Glad to see this trailer looks promising.

I agree 100%. The Mighty Number 9 trailer was a big let down for me as well, and I wasn't even planning on getting the game. This trailer on the other hand, got me super excited to see the end product.

I was surprised at just how Incompetent The Mighty Number 9 Trailer was, to be honest. Not quite "Super Robot Wars" incompetent but still pretty bad. It's like they missed the point of what they were supposed to do with a trailer.

I'm excited about Yooka-Laylee and I hope it turns out as well as it's looking.

The good thing about Mighty Number 9 is that even if the trailer sucked, the game could still be great. I still have faith that the game will turn out good.
I have high hopes for Yooka-Laylee as well, brings me right back to the late 90's.
