Last of Us Review

Review of my favorite game of 2013 so far

I, like many others have been playing The Last of Us over the last week. The game was one of the most highly anticipated titles that were scheduled to hit the shelves this year.  I’ll cover the important areas about what made this game incredible.

Graphics

The game has some of the best graphics that I’ve seen of any game on the PS3, not to mention the well-designed areas.  You can definitely tell the amount of thought and effort that went into the making of the different areas you visit in the game.

Controls

The controls are fairly simple, and they guide you through new ones as you begin to use them.  You’ll often find yourself hitting triangle to scavenge different things from your surroundings as it is one of the most important things that you can do in the game.

Storyline

Absolutely incredible–this is definitely one of the best stories that I have seen in a game in a very long time.  It is like a good book that you just can stop reading, or a tv series that you want to watch all in one sitting.

Overall

I would give this game a 10/10, it is simply one of the best entries that Naughty Dog has ever put out.  I found myself attached to the characters, I was deeply invested in their story, and that made me want to keep playing long into the evening.  That is something that I do not do often, if at all, with most games in recent memory.  Kudos to Naughty Dog for putting a game out that isn’t the typical type of game that we have seen more recently.
