This time around the publisher/developer has released a title from the Blazblue series that is a little off the track. Eat Beat: Dead Spike-san is a rhythm game set in the Blazblue universe starring not one of the main characters but Ragna The Bloodedge’s special attack, Dead Spike. And he has decided to take things into his own hands.

The gameplay is simple, players will click the L and R buttons on their respective sides of the screen as the icons move along the screen. The better a player is, the more points they rack up. Players can also charge up an Overdrive meter which will give them even more points once it is activated.

The game currently features six different songs that come with the initial download but there are two free songs up for grabs. There are more downloadable songs for players that want that kick, but they come as in-app purchases and will cost you from a $.99-$1.99.

It is a very fun game to just pick up with a pretty cute aesthetic, so if you’re into rhythm games this might be worth a go.

The app is available in both English and Japanese on Google Play and the iTunes app store.
