New Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Game is in the Works

A new game in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series has been announced by the legend himself.

This week, legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk revealed that a new Pro Skater game is currently in development. The announcement was made on his Demolition Radio show for SiriusXM, after discussing and reminiscing about the original Pro Skater series.

“We’re working on a game, we are working on a game, it’s pretty cool,” Hawk said.

Not much else was revealed about the project, but a co-host did comment that it involves “a whole suit you have to put on” – most likely referring to motion capture. Activision, the confirmed publisher, promises that more info is coming soon.

Aside from the recent HD re-release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, it’s been a while since the Tony Hawk series released a new game – let alone a good one. Tony Hawk: Ride (2009) and Tony Hawk: Shred (2010) both received terrible reviews and abysmal sales, causing the Tony Hawk series to be put on hold indefinitely. The generally positive reception of 2012’s Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD may be what convinced Activision to give the franchise a second chance.

What do you think? Are you excited about the return of the Pro Skater series?
