Fallout 4 Can Run at 4K Resolution

Surprise! The internet overreacted to something before getting all the necessary information.

As is normal for all things opinion related on the Internet, a large number of people found themselves massively underwhelmed by something popular and complained about the graphics in the reveal trailer for Fallout 4.  This seems to be a direct contrast to trailers in recent years, for games like Watch Dogs and Witcher 3 that have shown a graphical fidelity that is far superior than the final product.

Fortunately, graphics afficianados can take solace in the fact that Fallout 4 can indeed run at 4K resolution, assuming you have the rig to do so.  Bethesda Softworks released the screenshot below.

I don’t know about you, but that’s the best I’ve ever seen a Fallout game look and accusations of only being last gen in quality are painfully premature. Even if the graphics don’t necessarily end up on the same level as something like a Witcher 3 or even Skyrim, it is apparent that Fallout 4 will will more than make up for it with its level design and gameplay. Sometimes having the right and informed opinion is better than having the first word.
