Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Live Action Trailer

A bit of behind the scenes including the making of the live-action trailer of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

When making a live-action, video game trailer, a lot of work is required. The minds behind these trailers have to understand that this is real life, not a video game. I have to hand it to the guys at Defy that created the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag live-action trailer, they out did themselves with this one.

A Historic Challenge

The setting of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag definitely put the trailer producers through a bit of hell. Since the game is set in a historic time period, everything had to look it's age. It was said in the video provided here, that it took them about three weeks to make up a stage that was life size replica of a Spanish Gunboat. A lot of research was required to also make the boat and setting look it's era, and not as if it was built in modern times.

Stunts and Cameras

While making this trailer there are a few dangers that could occur, like explosions. The stuntmen involved in the video have to be very careful and precise as to where they are. It's not harmless like in a video game where you're in control - people could seriously be injured if they aren't taking the right movements.

Camera angles are another aspect that can make or break a trailer. When making this live-action trailer, they moved the camera through different levels of the ship, showing action in each level as it's taking place. They never lost the fluid movements of the camera, making it seem as if it's following the action.

After watching the live-action trailer, it gives me more anticipation for the release of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag November 1st. Don't worry guys, everyone should be able to enjoy the enriching story of Assassin's Creed on many consoles including, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U and PC. Hope you guys enjoyed a behind the scenes look.
