I’ve been really anticipating more and more about this game lately. I liked a lot of the stuff put forth. The survival aspect, the atmosphere, the combat being very not gun-centric. It’s a really cool concept that never sees enough love in this day and age, at least not correctly. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Fallout games. But when you are barely a few hours in, survival is never really an issue through the game.

On the other hand, The Last of Us has been promising a lot. Needing to eat, making weapons or using whatever is at hand, sneaking, and very very scarce ammo would all help really bring together that urgent feeling of helplessness and danger. And now there’s a little something else to help out the feeling of a ruined world.

In the video above, the guys at Naughty Dog have been working hard to get the environments in the game just perfect. Seeing the amount of detail and craftsmanship going into making the world itself really makes me happy. Also, the attitude of everyone being able to offer criticism on anyone’s work, and the feeling of community of the devs working together has got me convinced that at the very least, this will be a solid title.
