May the feather-y force be with you again!

Popular mobile publishers Rovio have announced the release of Angry Birds Star Wars II for September 19th.

With almost 2 billion downloads for the first installment in the series the sequel is bound to be a similar hit, here’s just hoping it’s better than other Star Wars sequels, such as The Phantom Menace (only a little redeemed by the loveliness that is Ewan McGregor in this geeks opinion).

In a clear money-grabbing nod to Skylanders you will be able to purchase toys in real life to use in the game. Rovio and Lucasfilm are clearly looking to make a similar splash as Activision gained by introducing this concept to Angry Birds. Namely, profits aplenty. Children everywhere will be saving up their allowance for the pocket-money priced toys. Also available will be a new line of toys, clothing, accessories, plush toys and books as well as the ‘Telepods’ figurines.

Jami Laes, the Executive VP of games said in a statement “Hasbro’s Telepods technology also provides a great way to extend the experience beyond the app and bring a whole new dimension to the gameplay.”

So look forward to new characters such as Anakin Skywalker (boo), Mace Windu (bird-y Samuel L. Jackson = hell yeah) and Darth Maul (meh).

I think I may join the Pork Side.
