ArcanEngine Kickstarter Launches to Revolutionize Tabletop Gaming with Customized, 3D-Printed Miniatures

A crowdfunded revolution is on the way in how tabletop gamers look at their miniatures--an online platform that gives any person the ability to build a one-of-a-kind miniature of their game character, with no artistic or technical skills required.

Vancouver based startup ArcanEngine and veteran development studio Skyrocket Digital are teaming up to crowdfund a revolution in the way tabletop gamers look at their miniatures. The product is an online platform that gives any person the ability to build a one-of-a-kind miniature of their game character, with no artistic or technical skills required.

“It’s a completely untouched market… There’s nothing like this out there on the internet,” stated the Lead Developer at Skyrocket Digital, Brendan Asselstine. “It’s really exciting to have the opportunity to be first at bat for something like this. I think it’s going to be great.”

Gamers browse an open marketplace of 3D pieces containing bases, bodies, weapons, armour, accessories and more. They choose the pieces that they feel best fit their character and assemble them into a complete miniature in an organic, intuitive interface. Once a player is happy with their custom miniature, they can share it online with their friends and order it to be 3D printed in ultra-detailed plastic and mailed to their door, ready to be painted and used in their games.

“I really wanted AracanEngine to be community-centric, letting everyone get in on the creation process. That’s where the best ideas come from,” said Zach Hill, founder.

The final goal of ArcanEngine is to harness the power of community by opening the doors to any 3D artist that wants to design and sell their own ideas, making the possibilities as unlimited as the collective imagination of its user base and giving artists an alternative source of income, lessening their reliance on studio work.

Over a year has been spent in pre-production and now the pieces are ready to be assembled… The 31-day Kickstarter campaign launches at 12AM, November 15th, and runs to 11:59PM, December 15th.

Perks for Backing include:

  • Free access to initial seed of over 170 pieces
  • Sample 3D Printed Miniatures
  • 3D Printed and Personalized Backer only Coin
  • D20 Shaped Dice holder personalized with the backers name
  • Work with ArcanEngine artists to custom design your own character and get it delivered to you cast in bronze, silver, or gold plated brass.
  • 3D Printed ring in bronze, Silver or Gold Plated Brass
