The long-awaited Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is set to launch Oct. 29 and Ubisoft is making preparations for a grand entrance.
The company recently announced in a press release that three different books based on the action-adventure game will be published around its launch. Fans of the popular series can choose between a novel, an art book, and a strategy guide.
The Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag novel is slated to be released Nov. 26 in North America, published by Ace Books, an imprint of Penguin Group. Its UK release is Nov. 7. It is written by Oliver Bowden, writer of the previous novels in the series, and focuses on Edward Kenway and his growth from an unknown pioneer to an infamous pirate during the Golden Age of Piracy. The never-ending battle between the Templars and the Assassins will, of course, play a part in his story.
The Art of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag will release on October 28th, and feature concept art on the game’s setting at sea. It will be published by Titan Books, whose past credits include The Art of Assassin’s Creed III and Awakening: The Art of Halo 4. 500 copies of a special edition will also be released, featuring two exclusive concept-art prints signed by the artists.
The official strategy guide, published by Piggyback and Prima Games, will release on the game’s launch day. It includes gaming tips and strategies for both single- and multiplayer modes, game secrets, and an informative walkthrough.
The game will be available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. Other related merchandise is already available at Ubisoft’s online store.
