Assassin’s Creed Mirage Gameplay Trailer Revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2023

Assassin's Creed Mirage dropped not one, but two trailers at Ubisoft Forward during Summer Game Fest.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the latest entry to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Originally announced in 2022, we got an expanded look at the game during Ubisoft Forward 2023. Two trailers later, almost 10 minutes of in-game and cinematic footage was presented. Releasing October 12 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, PC, and Amazon Luna, this is what we learned about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage.

The first trailer revealed during the show was the story trailer. AC Mirage follows the story of Basim about 20 years before the events of AC Valhalla. It starts before he becomes an assassin, chronicling his journey from normie to killing machine. We get to see him slinking through the streets of Baghdad, stalking his targets and executing stealth maneuvers to evade the guards. The complexity of his relationships with others around him, especially Roshan, is something to keep an eye on.

The second trailer features almost eight minutes of in-depth gameplay action. If you prefer to stay spoiler free for any of the game’s specific content, this is one you may want to skip. The trailer takes us through the very first mission Basim is to complete, his first kill as an assassin. We see the various tools he has at his disposal, how to use them, how to execute multiple targets in a row, and how to use his eagle companion, Enkidu. The stealth of the game, using the rooftops and outcroppings to escape, is on the nose for the original Assassin’s Creed gameplay, but it still looks good.

Assassin’s Creed: Mirage is ready to stealth onto your chosen platform come this October 12. In the meantime, stay tuned for more.
