If you like ghost hunting and action RPGs, then Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is for you. Featuring story altering decisions and intertwined fates, the latest trailer made its presence known at Summer Game Fest. Coming at the end of 2023, Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Here’s what we know.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden unsurprisingly revolves around those called Banishers, slayers of the dead who still roam the world to bring peace to the living. Things take a turn for the worst, however, when Antea Duarte becomes one of the dead she previously hunted. Now, Red Mac Raith races time and spirit alike to find a way to return her to the land of the living. A romance story wrapped under layers of spooks and intense action is a story that will tug at your trigger finger as well as your heartstrings.

Hunting down the entity that killed Antea, choices must be made that can alter the outcome of the story. Do you banish all those you find or let some keep the body they’ve possessed? It’s not just simple spirits, either. A range of undead make an appearance in the trailer, from a giant skeleton wolf to a wraith-like creature and more. You’ll use Antea’s newly found spirit powers in combination with the tools of a Banisher as Red to defeat all obstacles that stand in your way.

A definitive release date hasn’t been confirmed, yet. While the end of the year most likely indicates a release in time for the holiday season, we’ll have to wait until another announcement is made. Keep up to date with the latest on Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden here as more information becomes available.
