Today, before the BlizzCon opening ceremonies, Bungie gave Blizzard fans an excellent excuse to pick up Destiny 2. For a limited time, the game can be acquired for free via the Battle.net app.

The promotion follows the launch of the game’s most recent expansion, Forsaken, in September, which continued the work Bungie had been doing on the game since it launched over a year ago.

The excellent news for Battle.net players is that this is not one of those “free to play for a limited time” deals where players are offered a discount if they purchase the game before the promotion ends. Instead, everyone who downloads Destiny 2 via Blizzard’s platform between now and November 18 will own the game and be able to play free forever.

For those who already own the game on Battle.net, Bungie has something special as well. You may not be able to get the game for free, but you will get an exclusive in-game emblem that will let everyone know you were there at the beginning.

To grab your free copy of Destiny 2, just boot up your Battle.net launcher. And, as always, stay tuned to GameSkinny for more big news from BlizzCon 2018.
