A new character from Point Break was added to Payday 2 today for free.

Along with this week’s Payday 2 Point Break paid DLC, comes a new free character pack, Bodhi of Point Break. If you are a fan of the movie, you know the name well. Bodhi is played by Patrick Swayze in the original and is played by Edgar Ramirez in the remake coming later this year.

The characters description reads:

“Bodhi is known as one of the greatest legends in the world of crime, but few know the man behind the mask. As the founding father of the Ex-presidents gang, Bodhi’s renounced in the criminal underworld for his extreme athleticism and daring heists. His recent feats of strength in Mumbai and Austria got Bain’s attention, granting him an invitation to the Payday gang.”

For a free character, he sounds pretty cool. This is the second movie tie-in for the Payday franchise, the first being John Wick last year adding him as a playable character to the game.

Bodhi’s weapon of choice is the Platypus sniper rifle. The rifle has a mag size of 5 with 38 total ammo capacity, a rate of fire of 60, a total damage of 294, 96 accuracy, 24 stability, 5 concealment, and a threat level of 28. Overall, not a bad sniper rifle, but for a great one either.  The gun can as always be modded to your liking just like all other guns in Payday 2.

Bodhi’s melee weapon of choice is a utility knife, aka a box cutter. The knife is pretty fast when it is shown in the Bodhi trailer. The knife’s description says “If the blade can cut through the tough-bas**rd vacuum-sealed plastic of packing crates it can deal with anything the cops might wrap themselves in.” I don’t know the exact stats of the weapon, but it seems like it is more of a quick weapon than a damage dealing weapon.

Bodhi also comes with the Ex-president perk deck, which is all about teamwork. According to the OVERKILL site, you have a high chance of survival the more you and your team work together to take out enemies. The perk deck is good for teamwork based players, armor builds and players that focus on dodge, but OVERKILL urges you to try what feels good to you.

This is a free character pack and it is available to everyone who owns Payday 2 right now.
