The PlayStation Vita may be getting the system seller it so desperately needs when Borderlands 2 is released for the troubled handlheld.

Borderlands 2 was announced for the Vita during PlayStation’s Gamescom 2013 conference. While the game has obviously been a massive success for the PS3, PC and the Xbox 360, no release date details were ennounced.

This is great timing seeing as the ambitious handheld has seen terrible sales over the course of its short life. The Vita has long been looking to truly capture a wider audience amid Sony’s financial woes. Hopefully the $100 price cut combined with Borderlands 2 and the supposed intimacy the handheld is to have with the PS4, the Vita will remain on store shelves long enough to survive.

Is Borderlands 2 a great enough incentive to get you to buy a PlayStation Vita, or is it too little too late? Would you go and re-purchase it even if you already have it on your console? Sound off in the comments down below and maybe we can laugh at Tiny Tina together!
