Developer Silicon Studio has released a new rendering engine tech demo video, and it’s turning a lot of heads. That’s because it’s absolutely amazing, and the stellar soundtrack only adds to the viewing experience.

They’re calling it a “next-gen” presentation, and it highlights a “real-time technical demo preview” that features awesome lighting systems and ridiculous detail. Don’t forget that Silicon Studio created middleware like the YEBIS 2 post-processing tech, so it’s obvious these guys and gals know what they’re doing. Such technology was used in awe-inspiring demos like Square Enix’s Agni’s Philosophy.

It’s a great look at what to expect in the future, and it gives us hope that in fact, there are no limitations to interactive entertainment. Wouldn’t it be incredible to see Bravely Default 2 with tech like this? I mean, it’d have to be on next-gen consoles as opposed to portables, but still, it’d be unbelievable.

What do you want to see made with this tech?

There are any number of projects one could undertake with such advanced technology. What type of game would most benefit from it, do you think? Is it a genre that desperately needs an update and an overhaul, or one that would specifically benefit from the added detail and power? Realism is a goal for many designers; stuff like this makes that goal more attainable.
