Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Three Deploys Today

Modern Warfare Season 3 kicks off today, with new weapons, skins, a new Operator, and surprises for Warzone players as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 3 is live today. The initial update brings with it new modes, characters, weapons, and a new move for your battalion’s doggo assistant, plus there’s a new mode for the free-to-play Call of Duty Warzone.

Warzone is adding a Quads mode to Battle Royale and Plunder, where you can team up with three other players to accomplish your missions. This download is separate from Modern Warfare, so you don’t need to own that game if you want Warzone‘s Quads mode.

Activision will be adding new weapon-specific loot and new playlists to Warzone as the season progresses, too.

Modern Warfare players get three new 6v6 maps:

  • Talsik Backlot
  • Hovec Sawmill
  • Aniyah Incursion

There are two new, free weapons to earn as well: the Renetti Handgun at Tier 15 and the SKS marksman rifle at Tier 31. Both are highly customizable and just the start of Season 3’s new weapon additions.

Today’s update (re)introduces Alex as a playable Operator, but you’ll need to buy the Battle Pass to access him, and a new Finishing Move for Riley once he’s reached Tier 20.

Then there’s the usual glut of new skins included, plus a range of skins and Finishing Moves you can purchase with CP if you have the Battle Pass.

PlayStation 4 Modern Warfare players get exclusive new content in Season 3, though. The first piece is the Shoot House survival map, and PS Plus subscribers get the Warzone combat pack for Modern Warfare and Warzone:

  • Epic Operator skin for Wyatt
  • Epic sniper rifle blueprint
  • Epic handgun blueprint
  • Epic tactical knife
  • Epic weapon charm
  • Animated Calling Card
  • Spray
  • 60-minute Double Weapon XP Token

You’ll find it under the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store.

Finally, the update introduces a load of bug fixes. You can check out the full patch notes on Infinity Ward’s website.

That’s just the start of Modern Warfare Season 3, and the full details on everything included are over on Activision’s website. Activision has a lot more planned, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Call of Duty: Modern Warfare news as it develops.
