Get ready for a new title from the creative mind behind Chris Seavor and ex-Rare developer Shawn Pile.
The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup is going to be a 2D platformer launching on the Wii U e-shop. This game will feature a strong story with adult themes, but maybe not quite the adult themes that you might expect from the creative mind behind Conkers Bad Fur Day. In an interview with Nintendolife.com Chris explains the game as a different type of adult story.
“It’s a very sad tale. It’s not dark as in ‘mature’ — it’s not got swearing in it, or anything like that. It’s quite a serious and adult story, but still a fun and hopefully playable game with lots going on. There will be moments of dark humor, but nothing gory.”
Chris doesn’t divulge too much about the details of the game, the reason being that the game is too early in its development to give out too much about the core mechanics. Although we do know it will be a 2D platformer, Chris makes a distinction that the game is based on the character Rusty and the relationship the player has with him, going on to specifically say “It’s not like Angry Birds or Jetpack Joyride — there’s a reason this character is here.”
Gory Details hopes to have the game finished within a year and a half turnaround.
