The official trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2023. With an introduction by Johnny Silverhand himself, Keanu Reeves briefly tells the story of the expansion before the trailer begins. Coming September 26, here’s what we learned about Phantom Liberty.
Focusing on the degradation of V, you’re contacted by Songbird, the right hand of NUSA President Myers. With a supposed cure for the bomb in your brain, you’ll head into Dogtown, a new area of Night City, to rescue the NUSA President in exchange for it. The President’s craft was intentionally downed in an especially dangerous area of Night City, where a gun happy militia rules the streets lead by former military man Colonel Hansen.
Enter the need for spycraft and Idris Elba’s character, Reed. As an experienced Federal Intelligence Agency agent, he knows the ins and outs of the spy networks needed to find the President. It’s a race against the clock, as whoever finds her first can determine the fate of NUSA.
The expansion doesn’t stop at the Presidential rescue mission. Dogtown is seeped in secrets, new areas to explore, and a variety of quests that up the stakes of the game. Stealth through the streets to avoid detection by the militia as you complete your objectives. With a completely new skill tree, anything is possible.
