Danny Wells, Face of Luigi, Dies at 72

The man who gave a human face to green brother, Luigi, of Super Mario Bros Super Show has passed away.

Danny Wells passed at the age of 72. For those too young to remember, Danny Wells portrayed Luigi in the popular 1980s television show, Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

The Super Mario Bros Super Show enjoyed a showing of 65 episodes, starting in 1989. Danny Wells, also known as his given name of Jack Westelman, played Luigi opposite Lou Albano, who acted as Mario.

Danny Wells is also known for voiceover work. His work includes television shows and video games, such as:

  • Heathcliff and the Cadillac Cats
  • Winx Club
  • Batman: The Animated Series
  • Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
