Just because DayZ’s standalone is getting within eyesight of the finish line doesn’t mean the original ARMA 2 mod doesn’t get any love. The mod just recently received a new patch, giving updates and even a few new features to the popular add-on.
The update offers a few new methods for infection to pass, granting a bit more realism to a few features. Blood bags are now capable of being carriers of infection, as is unboiled water and edible raw meat.
On top of the new infection vectors, vehicles are no longer quite the safe havens they once were. Zombies are now able to damage and even open vehicles such as the ATV with the new update. Fortunately, that vehicle in particular can also now be turned upright if it flips over.
In addition, the undead are now able to hear the sound of chopping trees. Prospective lumberjacks beware, your craft can now attract zombies interested in partaking of your gray matter.
