Dead Island Developer Leaving Content to Popular Vote?

Deep Silver has posted a survey asking what players want to see in the collector's edition of Dead Island 2.

Dead Island 2 is  in development by Deep Silver and set to be released spring of 2015 for Windows PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Dead Island 2 picks up where Dead Island and Escape Dead Island left off at the Bonoi Islands, moving to a completely quaranteed Golden State.

The new game is said to combine classic elements from the earlier games such as close combat, multiplayer (up to eight), and action role-playing with new never-before-seen weapons and crazy characters wreaking havoc on major California landmarks from the Golden Gate Bridge to Venice Beach. Developers promise that Dead Island 2 will be more vibrant and light-hearted (yet just as, if not more, violent) than its predecessors.

Adding to the already highly anticipated game, Deep Silver is employing a tactic that was used with Dead Island Riptide and Saints Row IV allowing players to decide what they want to see in the game’s collector’s edition.

By filling out this simple Google Docs survey, players can choose from 28 items that range from something as simple as sunglasses to something as complex as digital content and an actual zombie by rating them on a scale of 1 (do not want) to 5 (I need this!).

If you really want to make your opinion count, you better do it fast because voting ends Monday July 14 at midnight.  After that, Deep Silver will announce the winning content based on the most popular items.  In addition, Deep Silver promises after the survey is submitted that they will do their best to make sure the collector’s edition will be “awesome and affordable.”

What do you want to see in the Dead Island 2 Collector’s Edition? Personally, I would like to see Deep Silver take a crack at a real zombie…
