Defiance‘s Advance Mission Beta 2 is starting in little over a week. With one more beta on the way, how close could the release be? Well, not too far away if you can deal with a two-month wait. Trion has announced that Defiance will be launching on April 2 — less than two weeks before the start of the Syfy television show.

Trion Worlds is fanning the flames of your excitement in a way that only a collaboration between a game and a TV series could possibly do: via live action trailer.

If the feel of the television series is the same as this trailer, I guess I’ve got something new to watch. I don’t need any additional convincing to get the game after playing the first Advanced Mission Beta.

Defiance promises to be an open-world shooter like no other, and I trust the five years of development that Trion has put into the title. Check out the next PC beta from February 8 through  February 10 — you just may be surprised at how solid it is. The game will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on April 2.
