Destiny is a tricky game. When it released in September 2014, it was met with a polarized response – the biggest criticism being that there’s barely any story. A year later, Destiny developer Bungie, the creator of Halo, is trying to rectify this.

The Taken King, the newest $40 expansion for Destiny, broke records on the Sony PlayStation Network when it launched on September 15th. It’s now the most downloaded game in PlayStation history, surpassing the original Destiny.

Activision did not share any specific numbers about the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 downloads of the game, nor about the downloads for the Xbox version, but it’s safe to assume that information will be released in the coming months once downloads die down.

The Taken King promises to be a more linear and cohesive story than what was originally offered in Destiny. A large, devilish-looking monster, is out for blood because you killed his son. Want to see how well you can defend yourself? Download or buy a retail copy of Destiny: The Taken King, which is out now for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
