Detective Pikachu is arriving on the 3DS in North America and Europe on March 23rd, The Pokémon Company has announced today. Placed in the shoes of Tim Goodman, you partner up with a talking, coffee-guzzling Pikachu to investigate the disappearance of Tim’s father. The reveal trailer shows off Pikachu’s (surprisingly) gruff voice and offers a taste of the sleuthing action you can expect from the game.

Detective Pikachu was released exclusively in Japan in March 2016 and has since gained attention from fans and Hollywood alike. Last month, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds was confirmed to play the role of Pikachu in a live-action film adaption, lending his voice and providing motion capture.

A Detective Pikachu amiibo has also been unveiled, with comparison shots showing a noticeable size difference to standard figures. When used with the game, the giant amiibo will unlock short hint videos to aid the investigation.

We’ll keep you updated with any further information on the game’s Western release.
