You know that light bar on the back of your PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controller that many find annoying? Yeah, that one. The purpose for the light bar on the back of the Dualshock 4 controller has finally been revealed.
SCEE Senior Designer, Jed Ashforth, revealed that the light bar was created from the dawn of the PS4 age for one reason and that is… Project Morpheus! Many fans did not know the nature of the light bar and had many complaints about how annoying it was and how it was a nuisance. He went on to talk about how he and others felt bad about the complaints, because they could not talk about the true purpose of the light at the time.
Project Morpheus is a Virtual Reality headset for gaming similar to the Oculus Rift.
With the newest update on PlayStation 4 it is possible to dim the light on the bar, so that is good news for those who didn’t like it. Sony’s VR headset is still at prototype stage, but we might be seeing it in action at E3 2014 as Sony shows off The Deep. Be sure to leave a comment below whether you think this headset will be successful or a failure.
