Dungeons of Hinterberg gives us a taste of all our favorite genres in one: RPG, hack ‘n’ slash, and puzzles. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait too long to hop in and try it. The developers have officially given us a release date along with another delightful surprise. Here are all the details.
Dungeons of Hinterberg is a bright, colorful RPG experience that allows players to explore the alpine world of Hinterberg in various ways. Battle notorious Alpine myth monsters, explore dungeons, and build relationships with the NPCs there. The game’s fun art style and features are, no doubt, why it has been gaining so much attention on social media, prompting the developers to finally give us a release date — July 18th, 2024.
We’ll start exploring Hinterberg just in time for summer on two main platforms: Windows PC and Xbox Series X/S. The good news for these platforms is Dungeons of Hinterberg will be available directly on Xbox Game Pass. Players who are already subscribed to Game Pass can play for no additional price on a console or PC. Unfortunately, there’s no news as of right now on whether the game will eventually expand to other platforms, like Switch or PlayStation.
Since the game is receiving so much attention lately, the developers threw in an even more exciting surprise for us. Players can join in on an open Play Test of Dungeons of Hinterberg that allows them to play the first two in-game days. The Play Test is open from May 9 to May 16. All you have to do to join in on this early taste is sign up via Steam. Scroll down to where it says “Join the Dungeons of Hinterberg Playtest” and press the “Request Access” button.
