It seems the final nail in the coffin for Medal of Honor has been hammered.  The studio behind the latest reboot of the series, Danger Close, has been officially dissolved amidst poor reception of Medal of Honor: Warfighter according to EA Executive Vice President Patrick Soderlund.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Soderlund had this to say,

“Danger Close as it was doesn’t exist anymore. There are people who left LA, people who work with DICE LA, and there are some who work in other parts of EA, as always when something gets dismantled.”

This news comes as gamers all over the world are gearing up for both Battlefield 4 and the reboot of Star Wars: Battlefront which were shown prominently at this year’s E3.  With Battlefront, the team at DICE hopes to take advantage of the recent deal between their publisher EA and Disney, which acquired the Star Wars IP license when they bought the franchise from George Lucas late last year.

“This is DICE’s interpretation of what Battlefront should be,” said Soderlund, “That’s the best description you can have. There are absolutely things in the previous Battlefront games that you’ll recognize and remember, but DICE wants to put its own flavor on it. That’s the only way we can do it. Hence it’s called Star Wars: Battlefront, without a 3 at the end. We want to say it’s something new.”
