EA Denies Paid Relationship with Apple

EA denies a paid relationship with Apple. How has this rumor and allegations taken place?
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Due to much confusion, Electronic Arts has issued a formal statement denying that they have a “paid relationship” with Apple. The real question is how this rumor and confusion got started in the first place.

It seems to be an “Unfortunate misunderstanding”

There have been statements from Cupertino giant paid to keep Planets vs. Zombies 2 off Android. This is also unfortunate due to a report by Giant Bomb doing a quote out of context of EA Labels head Frank Gieau. The quote that was taken out of context was saying that Apple had paid EA a “truckload of money” to keep the game off Android. This was said to happen at an internal town hall meeting.

EA has denied all these statements, claiming they are inaccurate and taken out of context.

“A comment from an internal meeting taken out of context has created an unfortunate misunderstanding, reports of a paid relationship between Apple and EA are factually inaccurate, and we apologise for any confusion.”

The real question is how these statements were in context. They have some substantial wording, that would question why they were even said.

What do you guys think about this situation? Is Apple being truthful, or is EA being truthful?
