Elden Ring 1.10 Patch Notes: July 26 Update Balances PvP, Tweaks Crits, Squashes Bugs

Here are the patch notes for the July 26 Elden Ring 1.10 update.

Elden Ring‘s 1.10 patch notes for the July 26 update are out. They detail balances to PvP, Critical Hits, and Poise. There are also a few bug fixes, as well. 1.10, which is for all platforms, is the first update to FromSoftware’s open-world RPG in more than three months, with 1.09.1 releasing back in April.

Elden Ring 1.10 Patch Notes (July 26 Update)

The 1.10 patch notes for Elden Ring aren’t very long, but they’re important for PvP players. Specifically, the changes affect Critical Hits, Poise damage, and invincibility frames. We’ve already detailed how Poise works in the 1.09.1 update, and things have been altered again (to absolutely no one’s surprise). Those who play single-player aren’t left in the lurch, though. Other adjustments to Crits and Poise affect the single-player content, and general bug fixes make some quality-of-life improvements.

PvP-Exclusive Balance Adjustments

The adjustments in this section do not affect single-player or cooperative play.

  • Increased poise damage of all weapons and some spells and incantations.
  • Increased poise when attacking with some skills, spells, incantations and some types of weapon attacks that generates poise.
  • Added damage reduction when performing attacks with some skills, spells and incantations and some types of weapon attacks that generates poise.
  • Critical hit angles have been extended.
  • Decreased the invulnerability window of the Quick Step and Hound’s Step skills.
  • Decreased the damage reduction granted by some skills, incantations and items.

General Balance Adjustments

  • Increased critical hit damage.
  • Decreased recovery time after a missed critical hit.
  • Increased poise damage of attacks that occur after missing a critical hit.

Bug Fixes and Other Changes

  • Adjusted the player damage animation so that the attack direction is not unintentionally shifted when getting hit while attacking with some types of weapons that generates poise.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented some spells and incantations from causing damage while under the effect of some skills and items.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the effects of the Sacred Order skill to continue after switching weapons.
  • Corrected some text in certain languages.

Those are the Elden Ring 1.10 patch notes for the July 26 update. These tweaks are sure to change the dynamic of PvP, even if only slightly. I’ll be happy not to die from missed spell damage, myself. For more, head over to our Elden Ring guides hub.
