Elder Scrolls Online Gameplay Trailer

Breakdown of the ESO Trailer
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

During Sony’s press event last night, they revealed that the Elder Scrolls Online would be coming to Playstation 4ESO will of course be heading to PC, but also to Xbox One and Mac.  I’ll be honest I was a little bit surprised to hear that ESO would be hitting the console market as well.

The developers and the publishers are doing this because they don’t want to alienate those who only play the Elder Scrolls series on the consoles.  Enough about that though, what got me really excited was the gameplay trailer that was in my email shortly after the Sony conference. Here is the link to the Elder Scrolls Online Trailer

Let me start by saying that it looks awesome.

Maybe not graphically though compared to Skyrim, but definitely appears to have some good graphics for an MMO.  They give you a good look around Tamriel at the different races and different places that you will see in the game, along with some epic music in the background.  Then a voice starts speaking in the background.  The first line makes it sound like Tim Curry, but the second line…  It’s Albus Dumbledore.

The music in the background picks up, and the scenery changes to battle lines.  You can hear the clashing of steel, and the thunder of magic.  At the end they give us a general release frame of Spring 2014.  I’ve marked my calendar, but I’m not going to hold my breath.  MMOs are a tricky sort, I wouldn’t be surprised if they push the date back at least once.
