ELEAGUE Announces First Esports Reality Series — The Challenger: Street Fighter V

Seven would-be champions will face off to see who's the greatest fighter of them all -- and who will receive a berth in the upcoming Street Fighter V Invitational.

Who will bask in the glory and adoration that comes with being declared the world’s greatest fighter? ELEAGUE and TBS are determined to find out. Not only will they be hosting the Street Fighter V Invitational beginning June 1, which will see 24 elite fighters clash for $250,000, but they will also be making their first foray into reality TV with ELEAGUE The Challenger: Street Fighter V, a series that looks to add an interesting wrinkle to the upcoming tournament.

Set to debut April 20 at 11 p.m. EST/PST on TBS, the five-part series will follow seven would-be champions as they compete for bragging rights in an atmosphere reminiscent of MTV’s Real World — and the stakes of Survivor. Contestants will not only brawl in SFV and settle a few internet-fueled beefs, but they will also compete in challenges around the Greater Atlanta area. By series’ end, one player will remain standing — and receive a berth in the upcoming fighting game invitational.

The seven contestants featured in the series are:

  • LowTierGod
  • Commander Jesse
  • JB
  • RobTV
  • Sherry Jenix
  • Gllty
  • Dayasha
