Minimum specs for Elite Dangerous on SteamVR are a doozy. Should they even bother publishing recommended?

Elite Dangerous is coming to Steam VR and Frontier Developments has announced minimum requirements. These minimum requirements are no slouch of a PC, but if you want high-end VR experiences then high-end hardware is to be expected:

OS: Windows 7/8/19 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core-i7-3770K Quad Core CPU or better, AMD FX 4350 Quad Core CPU or better
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 980 with 4GB or better
Network: Broadband Internet Connection
Hard Drive: 8GB available space

When Elite Dangerous: Horizons is released, ALL Elite Dangerous players will receive the SteamVR update whether you have Horizons or not. VR is certainly hot, and once hardware catches up with the hardware things are going to get interesting. We just have to get through the chicken and egg awkward period.
