ESA Shares Plans for Digital E3 2021, Including New E3 App

The ESA has plans for one-stop exhibition booths, broadcasts, and even leaderboards for E3 2021.

E3 2021 is all digital, and we’ve got a better idea how that will work thanks to some new information from the Entertainment Software Association.

Everything revolves around the new E3 portal and hub, where public and media attendees can schedule events, visit digital booths, host video conferences, and more.

Exhibitor booths will be like one-stop points for everything to know about that specific publisher, with articles, videos, and announcements. The ESA is also setting up digital lounge areas for everyone to gather if they want to and forums for discussion.

Another, though less clear, feature is leaderboards. The ESA describes them as part of “gamified show elements that can be collected and displayed, encouraging fans to interact in as many ways as possible.” They’ll be sharing more details ahead of the show’s June 12 start date, however.

Finally is the primary broadcast, also streamed through the hub and hosted by Alex Mendez, Jacki Jing, and Greg Miller.
