Bethesda Game Studios Tweeted last night that voice recording had officially wrapped on Fallout 4 and clocks in at around 111K lines of dialogue, more than both Fallout 3 and Skyrim combined!

Following E3 this year, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard told Telegraph that the two voice actors, Courtenay Taylor and Brian T. Delaney, had been acting the roles for over 2 years and recorded over 13,000 lines of dialogue each. That figure has rolled by almost 100,000 now that every character has their voices recorded.

“A lot of games have voiced characters, but what they don’t want to give up is all the dialogue options. So for us a lot of it was logistical.” Said Howard, “The voice actors have been recording for 2 years, they’ve each done over 13,000 lines of dialogue. So to be able to do that makes the difference; you still have choice.”

Of course, a voiced protagonist is something completely new to the Fallout franchise and Bethesda Game Studios in general. The decision to have voiced protagonists, should you choose male or female, was made because of the emphasis on story in Fallout 4. Pete Hines, Bethesda VP of PR, said the primary reason was to add “emotional depth” to the characters, and basically make them characters you care about.

For those of you wondering, Fallout 3 had around 40,000 lines of dialogue, while Skyrim had around 60,000. Regardless Fallout 4 is sure to be a massive adventure that rocks the gaming world when it releases.

Fallout 4 will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 10th. If you have Internet in whatever Vault you’re locked away in, stay tuned to GameSkinny for all your Fallout and gaming news!
