Fallout 76 to See Big Changes With Delayed Patch 11

Here's what players can expect in the new patch when it finally releases later this month.

The upcoming Patch 11 for Fallout 76 will see a slight delay from the originally announced launch window. It is now due to drop in mid-July, which means players can likely expect to download the new update by July 19.

The online RPG has already seen some major overhauls in recent weeks, with the addition of a Battle Royale mode called Nuclear Winter and a huge combat update.

That’s just the start of what’s in store, as, of course, human NPCs with dialog trees are still in the works, while a number of quality of life tweaks are coming with Patch 11.

While waiting on the next patch to officially arrive, Bethesda issued this statement about what changes are in store:

Lots of new Dwellers have been leaving Vault 76 for the first time over the past few weeks and, in Patch 11, we’re looking to make a few adjustments to help new and low-level characters have more gradual introductions to some of the game’s mechanics and challenges. For example, characters under level 25 will pay fewer caps when fast traveling, those under level 15 will have higher disease resistance, and we’re replacing a number of early-game Challenge rewards with items and other supplies that will give these Dwellers a better chance at survival.

We’re also looking to reduce creature difficulty in a few sub-regions within the Ash Heap, the Savage Divide, and Toxic Valley so that Dwellers who are stepping out of the Forest for the first time have fewer encounters with higher-level enemies. We’ll have more details to share in the full patch notes, but these are a few of the larger changes we’re planning to make to help new characters better adapt to life in the Wasteland.

That’s not the only major shakeup to the gameplay in store with the update, however.

Aside from those new player friendly updates, here’s an overview of the major changes coming to Fallout 76 with Patch 11 later this month:

  • Raw food items and fluxes will last 50% longer before spoiling, and food and drink won’t lower in condition while fast traveling
  • Legendary items will display all their current attributes with better descriptions
  • Power armor overhaul including option to toggle power armor HUD and ability to activate Stealth Boy while in power armor
  • Bulk junk items in your inventory will be safe from the “Scrap All Junk” option
  • You’ll once again be able to add your favorite alcohols to your Punch Bowl

Full patch notes are expected to arrive in the coming weeks as we get close to the official launch of Fallout 76’s Patch 11.
