Ubisoft has announced the Far Cry Compilation, which is sheduled to release on the PlayStation 3 on February 11th.  No mention was made of an Xbox 360 version.

This attractive collection is in celebration of the franchise’s 10th anniversary, and it includes: Far Cry 2Far Cry 3, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.  The price is right, too; it comes in at a reasonable $39.99, which means you’ve got potentially hundreds of hours of gameplay for only forty bucks.  Tough to find such a deal these days.

Also, don’t forget that Blood Dragon is a wacky spin-off that centers on a totally rad 80s hero, running around in the “future” environment of 2007.  It’s obviously different from the other two main series entries but it’s boatloads of fun.

Such compilations are win-win if you’re late to the party

Obviously, if you’ve got all the games listed here, or you’ve at least played them all, you’re probably not as interested in this collection.  However, for those who didn’t get around to playing every title in the acclaimed franchise, such a collection is great; not only do you get a huge amount of content via three full games, you also get an undeniably awesome price tag.  Sure, you’re a little behind, but so what?  Everybody’s behind, aren’t they?

Lastly, we’re talking about some of the most popular and well-received titles of the previous generation.  We always want a chance to catch up on the greats.
