Fatal Frame Wii U Will Finally Be Revealed

Information is finally being released about the new Wii U Fatal Frame Game! Question is, will it be released everywhere this time?

After years of waiting, Nintendo is finally going to talk about the new Fatal Frame game for the Wii U on July 17th. No details have been released whether or not the game will only be in Japan this time however.

In a translated tweet from Nintendo, they said that there would be a Nico Nico stream of the game

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, which was the fourth game in the series, was never released anywhere but Japan. The only way anyone would be able to play the fourth game outside of japan would have been to get the fan translated version. They also remade Fatal Frame 2: The Crimson Butterfly and released it everywhere but North America.  Being a North American Fatal Frame fan is hard when you haven’t gotten any releases since 2005.

Fatal Frame is a unique survival horror series where you play as someone who has found the Camera Obscura, which is your only means of protection against various ghosts and poltergeists.

This means of course that instead of blasting away bad guys with your guns you need to get up close and personal with them, taking a single zoomed in picture.  The longer you hold your camera up to the screaming specter the more bonuses you’d get at the end of the battle. It was just a matter if you were brave enough to do so.  Moments, like this was what made the Fatal Frame games amazing for any fan of the Survival Horror genre.  The game rewarded you for facing your fears.

According to the article by Evan Cambell on  IGN; “The Fatal Frame Wii U stream starts at 2:30 p.m. in Sydney, 5:30 a.m. in London, and 12:30 a.m. EDT on July 17.”

Hopefully this time, the newest game will reach the world-wide stage without the need of direct fan translations.
