FF11’s Shantotto Makes a Dastardly Appearance in FF14 Event

Professor Shantotto will appear in Eorzea very much large and in charge (ho hoho hohoho)!

Now that the Heavensturn event is over (we hoped you all “embraced you inner horse…” we’re assured that’s not a euphemism), Square Enix has lined up even more seasonal events for players to participate in in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (FF14).

Starting January 21st, 2014 at 2am (PST), until February 3rd 2014 at 6:59 (PST), the realm of Eorzea will see a dastardly cameo from none other than much-loved Final Fantasy XI (FF11) character, Professor Shantotto. Many players in FF14 will have played FF11 and will therefore remember Professor Shantotto fondly, especially her misadventures in the “A Shantotto Ascension” add-on.

Tarutaru in nature (a race very similar to Lalafell), Professor Shantotto is one of the top magical minds in FF11’s city of Windurst, instantly recognisable by her habit of speaking entirely in rhyme, and her very distinctive laugh. Given the amount of mischief her dabbling in the black arts has caused in the past, it’s no wonder that she’s turned up in Eorzea having expanded to the size of an overgrown gigas.

But don’t forget to first activate the quest, “That Old Black Magic,” by talking to Khloe Bajhiri in New Gridania. Then, by participating in “Embiggened Spriggans” and “Tower of Power” FATES, you can get yourself your very own FF14 Shantotto minion (ho hoho hohoho)!
